Aug 2024 Sid gave a presentation on "Quantifying the Benefits and Costs of Wetland Restoration Projects for Storm Surge Damage Reduction" at the 38th International Conference on Coastal Engineering (ICCE 2024) in Rome. His talk focused on the critical role of wetland restoration in mitigating storm surge damage, providing an economic analysis that supports nature-based solutions for coastal resilience. CSI Open House Apr 2024 our lab presented posters on high-tide flooding, the differential demographic impacts of hurricanes in Galveston Bay, TX, and the wave attenuation performance of oyster reefs. These topics showcased the lab's diverse research efforts in coastal hazard resilience and ecosystem-based solutions for mitigating storm impacts. ECU Research and Creative Achievement Week Apr 2024 Yicheng Xu delivered presentations on the topic of high-tide flooding at the ECU Research and Creative Achievement Week (RCAW) 2024 Conference, where they shared their research findings on the socio-economic impacts of high-tide flooding in the U.S. coastal regions. |
